Specifications (Alumina 99.5%):

Property Value
Materia 99.5% Al₂O₃ or ZrO₂
Inner Diameter (ID) 0.5 – 10 mm
Outer Diameter (OD) 1 – 15 mm
Length 5 – 150 mm
ID Tolerance ±0.005 mm
Surface Roughness (ID) Ra ≤0.2 μm
Straightness ≤0.02 mm over 100mm
Hardness (Al₂O₃) 15.5 GPa

Applications:

Wire bonding machine wire guides (gold, copper, aluminum wires)

Die attach epoxy dispensing needles

Vacuum pickup tool guides

Fiber optic ferrule alignment sleeves

Manufacturing Process:

Green machining → sintering → diamond reaming and honing of ID → OD centerless grinding → laser marking. 100% bore inspection with air gauge or optical comparator.

Quality Assurance:

Each tube is checked for ID/OD concentricity (≤0.01 mm TIR), surface finish (profilometer), and visual inspection under 20x microscope for cracks or chips.

Advantages over Metal Guides:

10x longer life (no galling or wear)

No wire scratching or particle generation

Chemically inert to solvents and fluxes

Custom Options:

Tapered ID, flanged ends, different materials (zirconia for higher toughness, SiC for extreme wear).

Small batch prototyping available.
